Role Title : Law Clerk II
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 10 Months

Job Description:
Education: **JD required** and requires law degree (from ABA accredited law school).
Required Skills: Must have at least two years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects or task order related projects including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging. Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources. Extensive legal writing (for example, in the form of legal memoranda, briefs, related correspondence), ability to perform legal research, high level of attention to detail as it pertains to legal writing. Preferred Skills: Claims assessment and analysis. The Law Clerks are going to be asked to do significant writing, and to potentially adjudicate claims, so analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to write well will be paramount.
Day-to-day Responsibilities: Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Manager performing complex legal research; preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc.; reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation. Acts independently and/or as a team leader on larger projects. Responsibilities may include acting as primary interface with trial attorneys, experts, and other client staff. Expected Deliverables: TBD Best Value Solicitation Grading: Most qualified candidates, in particular as it pertains to extensive legal writing and research skills (preferred: if they have any claims assessments or analysis experience) at rates viable within this LCAT. Ability to work on-site 5 days a week at a client site,
OTHER: Please include writing samples with every resume. The (CLIENT) attorneys will go through the writing sample with a fine-tooth comb, so please review them closely in advance. Do not include form letters, anything with redactions, or anything with bad grammar, spelling, or lacking punctuation. Role is not a first pass review assignment, so preference for higher level candidates, to the extent possible.
