Laser OperatorLouis Industries is one of the most modern steel processing facilities in central Minnesota. The parts Louis fabricates are found in products and equipment that are shipped globally. In addition, we are a major regional supplier with inventory of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.We are employee focused, offer flexible schedules, full benefits, and competitive pay.What You'll DoOperate laser cutting and/or punching machines on a regular basisLoad, edit, and run machine programsLoad raw material into sheet baysMaintain cutting quality while achieving acceptable feed ratesPerform first-part and in-process inspections per work order requirementsComplete general laser maintenance, including:Startup and shutdown proceduresWindow cleaning and nozzle centeringCleaning dust bins and replacing cutting bedsMaintaining a clean and organized work areaEnsure all products meet prescribed quality standardsHandle assorted steel raw material and steel scrapSeparate ("pick") parts from laser-cut skeletons and stack onto pallets or containersPackage parts using banding or shrink wrap, as requiredSafely operate forklifts to load/unload material and move completed partsOperate small hand and power tools as neededFollow all safety regulations and company policiesSupport continuous improvement and process improvement initiativesWhat You'll NeedForklift operating experienceCertified crane operator experience preferredKnowledge of inventory control and manufacturing processesAbility to read blueprints and use inspection equipmentStrong math skillsAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingCAD training or experience preferredMechanical aptitude; experience with electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems is a plusSchedule2nd shift - Monday through Thursday 4:00pm-2:30amBenefitsHealth, Dental and Vision InsuranceCompany Paid Life InsuranceHSA Match401k ContributionPPE ReimbursementsTuition Reimbursement ProgramEmployee Referral BonusAccrued PTOHoliday PayBereavement PayBonusesCompensationStarting at $26-$30/hour based on experience*Pay range includes $2.00 shift differential
