Large Press Set-Up Operator IIIAs a Large Press Set-Up Operator III, you'll play a critical role in ensuring high-quality stamped parts are produced safely, efficiently, and to customer specifications. You'll bring expert-level press setup knowledge, mentor junior operators, and collaborate closely with production, toolroom, and maintenance teams to support on-time delivery and continuous improvement.A Day in the Life:Read and interpret complex blueprints, job routings, and work instructionsExpertly set up and operate large presses to achieve quality parts and maximum production efficiencySet up all types of complex tooling, including draws, forms, and progressive diesStage all required materials so production can begin without delayUse dispatch displays to determine job priorities and next setupsConduct root cause analysis on die or press issues and coordinate with toolroom and maintenance for repairsRecommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safetyPerform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and tape measuresInspect materials and finished parts for defects and verify compliance with specificationsIdentify and label materials accurately using tags or labelsPerform routine mechanical maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work areaTrain and mentor Level I and II Set-Up OperatorsCapture and document work instructions to ensure consistent setups and production runsAccurately enter production and quality data into the company data collection systemFollow all established safety procedures and compliance guidelinesPerform other related duties as assignedYou're a Great Fit If You:Have expert-level knowledge of press setups and toolingCan read and interpret complex blueprints with confidenceAre highly detail-oriented with strong inspection and quality skillsExcel at troubleshooting and resolving press or tooling issues independentlyManage time effectively to meet production schedulesCommunicate clearly with production, maintenance, and tooling teamsEnjoy mentoring and supporting the development of less experienced operatorsPrioritize safety, quality, and continuous improvementEducation and Experience:High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred3+ years of experience in metal fabrication or related workPhysical Requirements:Ability to see and hear with vision including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustmentFrequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the shiftFrequent use of hands for handling, reaching, and operating equipmentPhysical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and maintain focus during long shiftsAbility to regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbsWhy Work With Us?Join a team-driven manufacturing environment where your expertise directly impacts product quality and production success.
