Mental Health Therapist, Outpatient – All Ages

HealthCare Recruiters International (HCRI) is seeking a Licensed or Pre-Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT) to join a collaborative outpatient behavioral health clinic serving individuals and families in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Fort Dodge sits in Webster County along the Des Moines River, a friendly Midwestern community known for its scenic riverfront parks, outdoor recreation, and affordable living.

This role offers flexibility to work with a preferred population including children, adolescents, adults, or a mix across the lifespan. Therapists provide trauma-informed care for low to mild acuity mental health diagnoses while working alongside an established team of collaborative clinicians in a supportive environment.

Outpatient Therapist Schedule

• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or four 9-hour shifts
• Approximately 4–5 client sessions per day
• Three-week ramp-up period to full caseload at full compensation

Outpatient Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide individual therapy to clients across the lifespan
• Opportunity to specialize in a preferred population (from children to adults)
• Deliver trauma-informed care for low to mild acuity mental health diagnoses
• Support individuals and couples
• Facilitate group therapy or educational sessions as needed
• Maintain timely clinical documentation and treatment records
• Collaborate with a team of established therapists for consultation and support

Outpatient Therapist Requirements

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
• Licensed or license-eligible in Iowa (LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT, LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
• Interest in providing therapy to individuals, families, or across age groups
• Trauma-informed care approach preferred
• EMDR, CBT, or family therapy experience is a plus

Outpatient Therapist Compensation

• Pre-licensed (LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT): $60K to $75K
• Fully licensed (LPC, LCSW, LMFT): $70K to $80K
• $10,000 sign-on bonus and HRSA loan forgiveness eligible site
• 4 weeks PTO, 13 paid holidays, 10 sick days
