Landscaper – Horticulture Program ManagerThe Landscaper – Horticulture Program Manager assists with maintaining the outdoor campus by developing and implementing the university's comprehensive horticulture program for turfgrass, shrubs, trees, feature gardens, and seasonal color flower beds. The Landscaper – Horticulture Program Manager is responsible for performing landscaping tasks such as fertilizing, herbicide application, pesticide application, chemical inventory/procurement, mosquito and pest management. From time to time, standard landscaping tasks such as mowing, weed eating, and blowing, may be required.Qualifications:Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with othersMust be proactiveDegree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferredSpecific Responsibilities:Assist the Head Supervisor and the Director of Landscaping in organizing and planning projects, routine maintenance, and irrigation schedules to align with the horticulture programDevelop, implement, and continually refine the campus-wide horticulture program for turfgrass, shrubs, trees, feature gardens, and seasonal color flower bedsMaintain a detailed chemical inventory, application records, and regulatory compliance documentationManage product procurement through competitive vendor bidding and cost analysisMonitor and maintain three, irrigation pump-station fertigation systemsUnderstand and evaluate active ingredients and identify cost-effective generic alternatives when appropriateAssist the Director of Landscaping with budget planning for chemical and equipment procurement and long-range planning for campus landscape developmentCoordinate and maintain records of soil and irrigation water testing twice annuallyMonitor campus conditions for plant health issues, pests, and environmental concernsCoordinate mosquito, cricket, beaver, snake, and fungal control measures across the main campusMonitor wildlife impacts to landscape areas and coordinate with pest control contractors as neededAssist with general grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, debris removal, snow/ice removal, and trash pickup as neededRye grass overseeding coordination and implementationPerform daily chores and checksPerform others duties as assigned.Work Schedule:Regular hours between 7:00 a.m.
