Job TitleThis role requires a combination of animal care, facility maintenance, team management, and customer service skills to ensure the smooth operation of the stable and the well-being of the animals.Hours: M-F, 7-4pm (additional weekend hours as needed)Rate of Pay $21-$25/hrLocation: Hampton, VAPosition ResponsibilitiesAssist with the feeding, cleaning, and supplement schedules for all animalsDaily exercise of horses and other animalsHold horses for veterinary care and farrier servicesMaintain a clean and organized stable area, including regular facility upkeepGroom and bathe animals as required to ensure proper care and hygieneMonitor horses for health, soundness, and overall well-beingAssist with breeding and foaling activitiesProvide support for handling and managing problem animalsManage and oversee a team to ensure high-quality standards are consistently metTake a proactive approach to managing daily operations within the scope of authorityMaintain excellent internal and external customer relations, fostering a customer-centric environmentIdentify issues and act as a solution provider to resolve challengesPerform other related duties as assigned to support the operation of the facilityPosition Qualifications/SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee is required to work in various temperatures from hot to cold. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and distance vision acuity to operate mobile equipment.Work EnvironmentExposure to a wide variety of inside and outside conditions working in the outdoors with animals.
