LandAxis is a land and infrastructure services firm supporting large-scale infrastructure projects nationwide. We provide site selection, permitting, right-of-way, interconnection support, and community engagement for developers of energy, data center, pipeline, and utility-scale projects. We move fast, work hands-on, and represent our clients in the communities where their projects live.
We're looking for an experienced Field Landman to support active right-of-way and land acquisition efforts. This is a contract (1099) position with a day-rate structure. You'll work remotely with as needed travel to project areas, where you'll be the face of LandAxis and our clients with landowners, county officials, and community stakeholders.
- Conduct in-person landowner outreach — introductions, negotiations, and follow-up contact across assigned project tracts
- Negotiate and secure right-of-way agreements, easements, options, leases, and related land agreements
- Perform courthouse research: run surface and mineral title, verify ownership, and prepare ownership reports and runsheets
- Prepare, present, and execute agreements and payment documentation with landowners
- Maintain accurate contact logs, tract status records, and document files in company systems
- Deliver weekly status reports on landowner contacts, negotiations, and tract progress
- Support permitting, survey access, and community engagement activities as needed
- Represent LandAxis professionally with landowners, attorneys, county officials, and client personnel
- 2+ years of experience as a field landman or right-of-way agent (energy, pipeline, renewables, transmission, or data center infrastructure preferred)
- Proven track record negotiating easements and land agreements directly with landowners
- Working knowledge of courthouse title research and county records systems
- Strong interpersonal skills — comfortable knocking on doors and building trust with rural landowners
- Highly organized with clean, timely documentation and reporting habits
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; GIS or mapping tools a plus
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel to project areas (travel required)
- RPL or CPL certification (AAPL) a plus but not required
- Type: Independent Contractor (1099), day rate commensurate with experience
- Location: Remote, with as needed field travel to active project areas nationwide
- Travel: Regular, project-dependent
