Senior Land SurveyorIMEG is hiring a Senior Land Surveyor in Bozeman/Billings, MT, to lead daily survey operations for construction layout, boundary, topographic, and as built surveys. This role applies diversified knowledge of land surveying principles and practices to production surveying duties, calculations, and surveying judgment in support of accurate project delivery. You'll also help guide survey work using documented practices, systems, and experience-based judgment under the leadership of a Senior Land Surveyor.Principal ResponsibilitiesPerform complex survey work for construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as built surveysResearch historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reportsComplete boundary reductions, boundary determinations, and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey softwareMaintain and verify the accuracy of project survey data and manage company standards survey databasesReview survey production, final products, processed data collection, and field notes for quality controlPrepare survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projectsSupport the operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors, and other survey equipmentSupervise CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing the surveys performedBuild productive working relationships with clients and coworkersPrepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets, and mentor and assist in training junior staff membersOperate a company vehicleObserve safety and security proceduresRequired Qualifications and SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required8 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferredLand Surveyor (LS) License requiredAdvanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles and practicesProficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documentsKnowledge and ability to effectively deal with public and governmental agencies, manage field crews, and schedule equipment and suppliesProficient with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office softwareAbility to travel with occasional overnight staysThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.
