# Land Management Professional*Kenner, LA*Order: 65422Poplarville, MS: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Ranch Manager to oversee the daily operations and long-term strategic development of a privately owned 400-acre ranch. This leadership role is responsible for managing livestock operations, enhancing wildlife habitat, maintaining ranch infrastructure, overseeing financial performance, and leading future expansion initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is equally comfortable working in the field and managing strategic business objectives.Essential Duties:Oversee all daily ranch operations across approximately 400 acres.Develop and execute strategies to improve and expand the cattle herd.Manage herd health, breeding programs, nutrition, vaccinations, and grazing practices.Implement rotational grazing and pasture management programs to maximize productivity.Supervise maintenance of fencing, water systems, roads, barns, equipment, and other ranch infrastructure.Manage ranch employees, contractors, and outside service providers.Develop and implement wildlife management programs that promote healthy populations of deer, ducks, turkey, and other native wildlife.Establish and maintain food plots, wetlands, water sources, nesting areas, and wildlife corridors.Coordinate habitat improvement initiatives, including brush management, prescribed burning, native grass restoration, and invasive species control.Manage hunting operations while ensuring compliance with applicable wildlife regulations.Oversee high-fence planning, installation, and maintenance as needed.Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets.Monitor expenses, financial performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.Prepare monthly operational and financial reports for ownership.Manage purchasing and inventory of livestock, feed, equipment, and ranch supplies.Identify opportunities for ranch expansion through land acquisitions.Lead due diligence efforts for prospective property acquisitions.Plan and oversee infrastructure improvements and capital construction projects.Develop long-term strategic plans to increase property value, operational efficiency, livestock productivity, wildlife habitat, and recreational opportunities.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal agricultural, environmental, and wildlife regulations.Requirements/Skills:3+ years of progressive experience in ranch management, agricultural operations, or large property management.Demonstrated experience managing beef cattle operations.Strong knowledge of grazing systems, pasture management, herd health, and livestock nutrition.Experience with wildlife habitat management and conservation practices.Proven experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and operational performance.Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.Ability to operate and oversee ranch equipment and infrastructure maintenance.Valid driver's license.Experience with high-fence ranch operations preferred.Knowledge of whitetail deer, waterfowl, turkey, and habitat enhancement programs preferred.Experience managing land acquisitions and capital improvement projects preferred.Self-motivated leader with a strong work ethic and a passion for land stewardship, livestock production, conservation, and operational excellence.Physical Requirements:Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and uneven terrain.Frequently walk, climb, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.Operate ranch vehicles, tractors, ATVs, UTVs, and agricultural equipment safely.Ability to inspect livestock, wildlife habitat, fencing, water systems, and infrastructure across large acreage.Occasionally work extended hours, weekends, or holidays as operational needs require.
