As a LabVIEW developer/CIM Engineer, you will create, enhance, and support LabVIEW applications that control manufacturing and test equipment and capture production data for high-power laser builds. You collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and IT to turn requirements into reliable, well-documented software that follows design standards and change-control processes.
You also provide hands-on support for the manufacturing line, including occasional after-hours remote troubleshooting. This role is based primarily onsite in Camas, WA, with occasional work in Vancouver, WA and reports to the IT Software Manager.ResponsibilitiesCreates and supports LabVIEW applications that interface with and control manufacturing and test equipment used to build high-power lasersCollaborates with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and deliver projects on scheduleThoroughly documents software processes and end-user instructionsFollows software design standards including abstraction, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and change controlSupports and improves existing LabVIEW softwareProvides hands-on support for nLIGHT's manufacturing line, including occasional after-hours remote supportMaintains confidentiality of proprietary information and sensitive data in accordance with company policiesTroubleshoots automation issues to root cause and implements corrective actionsImplements monitoring/diagnostics (logging, error handling, alarms) to reduce downtimeIntegrates automation with Company databasesDeploys/releases software to production (build packaging, installers, versioning, rollback)Validates changes before release (test plans, dry runs, basic verification/acceptance with Manufacturing)Complies with U.S. export control requirements and technology control procedures when handling technical data, software, and test informationEscalates potential compliance issues (e.g., unintended disclosure, improper sharing, or unauthorized access) to the appropriate internal teams in a timely mannerReports to the IT Software ManagerQualifications1+ years of LabVIEW programming experienceCollaborative, team-oriented working styleB.S.
