The team advises leading companies and institutions on a broad range of complex labor and employment matters, including employment litigation, workplace disputes, investigations and counseling. The role offers exposure to sophisticated, high-value matters and the opportunity to work closely with experienced practitioners and clients.
The Role
- Advising employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters
- Handling complex employment litigation and workplace disputes
- Advising on employment-related investigations, compliance issues and workplace policies
- Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda and other litigation and advisory documents
- Managing discovery, depositions and other aspects of employment litigation
- Representing clients in federal and state court proceedings and before relevant administrative agencies
- Advising clients on employment issues arising from broader corporate and business matters
- Working directly with clients, opposing counsel and other stakeholders
- Collaborating with colleagues across the firm's broader Litigation, Labor & Employment and Regulatory practices
Candidate Profile
- 3+ years' experience in Labor & Employment law
- Strong experience in employment litigation and/or complex workplace disputes
- Experience advising employers on employment-related investigations and compliance matters preferred
- Strong drafting, research and advocacy skills
- Experience at a leading law firm preferred, although strong candidates from specialist or mid-sized employment practices will also be considered
- Comfortable taking ownership of matters and managing competing deadlines
- Strong academic and professional credentials
- Washington DC Bar admission preferred
- Commercially minded, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team
