Phlebotomist - Laboratory
Schedule
Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Assignment Details
Guaranteed Hours: 40.00

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required
• Associate's/Technical Degree preferred
• Three years of Phlebotomy experience in an acute care environment preferred
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) license required
• Current BLS certification
• EPIC experience required
• 5 years of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Organizes and coordinates the operation of the clinical laboratory phlebotomy and processing area.
• Directs and implements policies and procedures to improve workflow and safety measures.
• Ensures the timely delivery of accurate phlebotomy procedures.
• Act as a liaison between phlebotomy, laboratory, physicians, patients, families, and other staff.
• Adheres to all regulations and policies to ensure privacy and safety.
• Obtains blood specimens and prepares various body fluids for testing, maintaining specimen integrity.
• Completes specimen accessioning activities, ensuring accurate labeling and processing.
• Stores and disposes of patient specimens according to established procedures.
• Monitors workload and assigns duties as needed.
