Laboratory Technician

Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading food manufacturing organization to identify a Laboratory Technician to support laboratory testing, product quality, and food safety operations.

Responsibilities

· Perform routine analytical laboratory testing and inspections on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.

· Conduct quantitative and qualitative tests to support food safety, quality, and operational teams.

· Monitor laboratory instrumentation performance and perform calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and basic equipment repairs.

· Record, interpret, and maintain accurate test results in laboratory databases and communicate findings to internal stakeholders.

· Maintain customer specification books and ensure laboratory documentation is accurate and up to date.

· Follow applicable food safety regulations, quality standards, compliance programs, and established laboratory procedures.

· Support complex trials and experiments under supervision while independently performing routine testing activities.

· Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain and improve food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

· Prepare routine reports and correspondence, address technical and administrative issues, and escalate complex concerns to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

· Experience performing laboratory testing, analytical analysis, or quality inspections preferred.

· Ability to conduct routine quantitative and qualitative testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.

· Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.

· Ability to accurately document test results and maintain laboratory databases.

· Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and standard procedures.

· Strong attention to detail, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently on routine testing and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

· Food safety, food quality, feed safety, or regulatory testing experience is a plus.

Additional Details:

• Location model: Onsite, Dayton, OH
• Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts; Day Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or Night Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM. Four days on, four days off. Day-shift employees participate in an on-call rotation for vacation coverage and may work additional days when coverage is needed.
• Position Type: 1 year with possibilities of extension
• Pay range approved: $22/hr - $23.50/hr depending on experience
