Laboratory Coordinator IIThe Center for Innovation in Brain Science (CIBS) at the University of Arizona is uniquely integrating the biotech ecosystem to an academic setting with a goal of addressing the challenge that, in the 21st century, there is no cure for any neurodegenerative disease. The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work-life programs.Duties & Responsibilities:Assist with orientation and training staff, students, visiting scientists, and new lab members in application and use of scientific equipment.Coordinate all administrative aspects of lab including ordering/procurement of equipment, inventory and maintenance, disposal, and ensuring the lab is meeting compliance requirements.Under the PI's direction, coordinate the implementation and maintenance of compliance with SOPs and other regulations to ensure laboratory safety, efficiency, and quality control.Provide support in maintaining multiple ticket systems for requests (Facilities management and IT, in addition to computer management of all CIBS workstations.Maintain inventory and check-out of cryogenically stored cells, surplus and U of A financial asset audit.Support and maintain research experiments/methods under the direction of principal investigators, including following: animal research protocols, processing biological and specimen collection, performing laboratory assays, and organizing data collection and documentation.Maintain research facilities and equipment, and coordinate outsourcing to service vendors as needed.Coordinate storing and shipment of biological specimens and chemical substances, making sure they are appropriately handled per regulatory requirements.Coordinate submission of IACUC, Chemical and Biosafety protocols and maintain laboratory compliance with all University regulatory requirements.Under the direction of the PI, may participate with annual RLSS inspection and bi-annual IACUC inspections in laboratory spaces.Under the direction of the PI, assist in meeting the education, certification, and training requirements for all lab personnel.Assist laboratory members with performance of basic lab techniques.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Organization and data collection skills.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with basic molecular biology techniques.Experience with Animal Care Protocols.FLSA - ExemptFull Time/Part Time - Full TimeNumber of Hours Worked per Week - 40Job FTE - 1.0Work Calendar - FiscalJob Category - ResearchBenefits Eligible - Yes - Full BenefitsRate of Pay - $53,039-$66,299Compensation Type - salary at 1.0 full-time equivalency (FTE)Grade - 7Career Stream and Level - PC2Job Family - Research & LabJob Function - ResearchType of criminal background check required: - Name-based criminal background check (non-security sensitive)Number of Vacancies - 1Contact Information for Candidates - Gloria Bloomer I Date - 12/10/2025Open Until Filled - YesDocuments Needed to Apply - Resume and Cover Letter
