Full Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Per instruction of the Lab Director, develop or replicate cosmetic ingredients, raw materials (oil, emulsifiers, preservatives, etc.) and compound lab samples, ingredients to fulfill raw materials needs as well as for client projects.
  • Coordinate and manage Lab technician formulation, lab activities and improving existing formulations.
  • Help Lab Technician to develop on formulation and general industry and laboratory standards.
  • Assists project feasibility and assign work to Lab Technician based on complexity and skills required.
  • Keep time schedule for submissions to customers, formula evaluation, MIC, pilot schedule, stability, safety testing, etc.
  • Communicate to the Lab Director any issue related to project feasibility and interact with Compounding, Operation, Purchasing, Quality, Regulatory, Sales, and Technical departments.
  • Manufacturing support and assist marketing/ sales with technical expertise.
  • Help to maintain Laboratory retains, sampling and equipment and products library (Corp #, Lot Code, Retains, Samples, etc.).
  • Manage up to date raw materials and solution inventory in individual workstation.
  • Ensure that Lab Director expectation is met/ exceeded.
  • General laboratory housekeeping to keep lab neat and clean for frequent client visits. Must be able to work in Team environment.
  • Must be able to render overtime without hesitation, when required. Must be able to follow safety protocol in lab environment and understand SDS is must require.
  • Perform any other duties or tasks that may require by the company.
  • Promotes and demonstrates behavior with the company’s core values and policies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related sciences preferred.

10 + years direct, hands- on experience in formulation, compounding cosmetics, OTC, and specific raw materials.

Industry Experience Preferred

General computer skills (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes)
