Responsibilities



  • Prepare, label, and organize laboratory samples, reagents, buffers, and media.

  • Perform routine microbiology procedures including media preparation, microbial culturing, plating, colony counting, Gram staining, and environmental monitoring.

  • Assist with molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, and nucleic acid quantification.

  • Support chemistry laboratory activities including solution preparation, pH measurements, analytical testing, and instrument calibration.

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including centrifuges, pipettes, biosafety cabinets, autoclaves, incubators, spectrophotometers, and balances.

  • Record laboratory data accurately using laboratory notebooks, LIMS, or electronic documentation systems.

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP/GMP) as required.

  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness, sterilize equipment, dispose of biohazardous waste, and ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures.

  • Assist senior scientists and laboratory staff with research, quality control, and routine testing activities.

  • Perform inventory management, stock laboratory supplies, and prepare materials for experiments.


Qualifications



  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.

  • 0-2 years of laboratory experience (coursework, internships, or academic research accepted).

  • Basic understanding of microbiology, chemistry, and molecular biology laboratory techniques.

  • Experience with aseptic technique and laboratory safety practices preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
