Labor & Employment Counsel

Overview

Lateral Link is working closely with a prestigious AmLaw firm in San Francisco regarding its search for a Labor & Employment Counsel. This position can also be based in Los Angeles. This is a rare opportunity to join a sophisticated Labor & Employment practice and work with top-notch attorneys at a firm that heavily invests in the professional development of its attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Provide labor and employment counsel to clients with a focus on management-side matters.
• Independently manage cases from start to finish, including strategy development, fact-finding, and negotiations.
• Represent clients in defense-side employment litigation and/or regulatory disputes as needed, including PAGA disputes and wage and hour class actions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate policies, handbooks, and client guidance to minimize risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with a team of litigators and counsel to deliver practical, business-oriented solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of labor & employment management-side experience at a large law firm.
• Significant defense-side employment litigation and/or trial experience in PAGA disputes and wage and hour class actions.
• Ability to independently manage cases from start to finish.
• Advice and counseling experience is a plus.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• A license to practice law in California (active and in good standing).
