Labor & Employment AttorneyDirect Counsel is seeking a Labor & Employment Attorney with 3–7 years of experience to join a well-established Labor & Employment practice serving public sector and private sector clients throughout the Bay Area. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in advising employers on a broad range of employment and traditional labor matters while working alongside experienced practitioners in a collaborative environment.The ideal candidate will have strong labor and employment counseling experience, exceptional legal writing and analytical skills, and a practical, client-focused approach to problem-solving.ResponsibilitiesAdvise public agency and private sector clients on employment and labor law mattersProvide day-to-day counseling regarding workplace issues, personnel matters, compliance obligations, and risk management strategiesAssist with traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining and labor relations issuesDraft and review employment-related agreements, policies, procedures, and workplace documentsConduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex labor and employment law issuesCollaborate with clients and colleagues to develop practical and strategic solutions to employment challengesSupport employment-related investigations, disciplinary matters, and compliance initiativesQualifications3–7 years of labor and employment law experienceExperience advising employers on employment and traditional labor mattersStrong transactional and counseling experience requiredEmployment litigation experience preferred but not requiredExcellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to manage matters independently while working collaboratively with clients and colleaguesCalifornia Bar admission requiredCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $158,000 – $206,000Annual performance-based and billable hours bonusesMainly remote – must reside in California!Reasonable billable hour expectationsCompetitive health insurance benefits and 401(k) with partial matchStrong mentorship and long-term career development opportunitiesThis opportunity offers sophisticated labor and employment work, direct client interaction, and the ability to advise both public and private sector employers on impactful workplace and labor relations matters.Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply through Direct Counsel.
