A law firm seeks an experienced Labor and Employment Attorney in Owings Mills, MD. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of advising both for-profit and non-profit businesses. Duties
- Draft and prepare employment agreements, severance agreements, and employee handbooks.
- Advise on onboarding, accommodations, disciplinary questions, and termination procedures.
- Counsel on employee classifications and regulatory compliance.
- Assess workplace practices to reduce risk exposure.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Train managers on workplace best practices.
- Provide crisis management guidance for unexpected HR issues.
- Handle workplace investigations and draft position statements for EEOC and state agencies.
- Manage administrative hearings, mediations, and litigation.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years' experience advising clients on Human Resources matters.
- Experience handling EPLI defense cases.
- Understanding of by-laws and board governance dynamics.
- Maryland bar license required; additional bars, including D.C., are a bonus.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Certifications
Active Maryland bar license.
