Labor & Employment Associate (2–4 Years)

Direct Counsel is representing a reputable law firm seeking a Labor & Employment Associate (2–4 Years) to join its Sacramento office.

This opportunity is ideal for an employment attorney with 2–4 years of litigation experience who is looking to work on sophisticated labor and employment matters for employers across a wide range of industries. The role includes both litigation and counseling work, with exposure to class actions, wage and hour matters, discrimination claims, and employment compliance issues.

Responsibilities:

• Defend employers in:
• Employment class and individual litigation
• Wage and hour disputes
• Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
• Unfair competition matters
• Advise employers on:
• Leaves of absence
• Employee accommodations
• Personnel policies
• Wage and hour compliance
• Employment agreements
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and employment-related documents
• Support all phases of litigation and client counseling matters
• Collaborate with clients and legal teams on employment strategies and risk management

Qualifications:

• 2–4 years of labor and employment experience
• Strong litigation background required
• Wage and hour experience preferred
• Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to take ownership of matters
• Strong academic credentials required
• Must be admitted to the California Bar

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $230,000 – $285,000 annually
