Lab Technician – Quality Control

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Microbiology Laboratory Assistant to support daily laboratory operations and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant microbiology environment. The ideal candidate will assist with laboratory housekeeping, glassware washing, autoclaving, inventory management, biohazard waste disposal, documentation, and general lab support activities while ensuring compliance with GMP, GLP, and GDP requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of microbiology laboratory areas.
• Wash, sterilize, and prepare laboratory glassware and accessories using autoclaves.
• Handle biohazard waste disposal according to approved procedures.
• Monitor and maintain inventories of media, reagents, PPE, and laboratory supplies.
• Support sample shipment activities to contract testing laboratories.
• Assist with calibration checks, equipment verifications, and temperature monitoring.
• Organize laboratory equipment, refrigerators, incubators, and storage areas.
• Follow GMP, GLP, GDP, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
• Collaborate with laboratory team members to support daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience.
• Basic knowledge of GMP, GLP, and GDP practices.
• Experience handling laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperature and humidity conditions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in microbiology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated laboratory environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.
