Phlebotomist

Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, including pediatric and geriatric patients
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of collections and procedures
- Explain procedures to patients to create a trusting environment and alleviate concerns
- Ensure a clean, safe, and professional environment adhering to safety protocols and confidentiality standards
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by focusing on process excellence and patient sensitivity
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry and record keeping as required
- Maintain reliable transportation to and from the worksite and be flexible to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Required Skills
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Keyboard and data entry experience
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; more than 1 year preferred
- Reliable transportation to the worksite within a 20-25 minute commute
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
- Must be punctual, dependable, and committed to full-shift coverage
- If currently a student, shift schedule must not conflict with school commitments
