Responsibilities
  • Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety standards.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
  • Maintain patient records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.
  • Create a reassuring and professional environment, explaining procedures to patients to foster trust and comfort.
  • Perform specimen collection and processing duties accurately and efficiently, adhering to best practices.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote a positive image to patients, staff, and the public.
  • Manage daily tasks independently, ensuring timely completion of responsibilities.
Required Skills
  • Exceptional phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws.
  • Ability to perform error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and record-keeping.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills for interacting with diverse patient populations.
  • Proficiency in keyboard/data entry for specimen and patient data documentation.
Additional Skills & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; 1+ years preferred.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime based on staffing needs.
