Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples from patients, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the collection process.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing by following established procedures and protocols.
- Verify patient demographic information and label specimens in the presence of the patient to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of collection activities.
- Create a professional and trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly to patients and addressing their concerns.
- Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence and adherence to safety standards.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Adhere to company policies including dress code, safety, and confidentiality standards.
- Travel to multiple locations as needed and work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
Required Skills
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks.
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Two or more years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and travel between multiple locations.
- Experience with customer service in a retail or service environment is a plus.
