Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities
  • Draw quality blood samples from patients, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the collection process.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing by following established procedures and protocols.
  • Verify patient demographic information and label specimens in the presence of the patient to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of collection activities.
  • Create a professional and trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly to patients and addressing their concerns.
  • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence and adherence to safety standards.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies including dress code, safety, and confidentiality standards.
  • Travel to multiple locations as needed and work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
Required Skills
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks.
Additional Skills & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Two or more years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and travel between multiple locations.
  • Experience with customer service in a retail or service environment is a plus.
