Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.
- Prepare specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Interact directly with patients to explain procedures and create a trusting environment.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of collected samples and patient interactions.
- Adhere to safety and confidentiality standards to ensure a professional environment.
- Perform specimen collection and processing duties confidently, following all established practices and protocols.
- Support continuous process improvement and promote a positive image to patients and staff alike.
Required Skills
- Strong phlebotomy skills with the ability to draw blood efficiently and safely, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in specimen collection and documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification is required in California, Nevada, and Washington; preferred elsewhere.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry skills are necessary for accurate record-keeping.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and potential overtime based on staffing needs.
