IC Resources is partnering with a global semiconductor company to hire a Lab Manager for its growing engineering team in Austin, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced lab professional to build upon a hands on technical background while transitioning into a leadership role overseeing a high-performance semiconductor engineering lab.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment, enjoys leading technical teams, and takes ownership of lab operations, equipment readiness, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the day to day operations of a semiconductor engineering lab supporting Product and Test Engineering teams.
  • Supervise and develop a team of 3–4 lab technicians, assigning priorities and managing workflow.
  • Own overall lab readiness, organization, safety, and 5S initiatives.
  • Manage preventive maintenance, calibration programs, and equipment uptime.
  • Coordinate repairs, vendor support, equipment purchases, and lab operating budgets.
  • Maintain inventory of lab equipment, spare parts, fixtures, consumables, and tooling.
  • Support engineering characterization, sampling activities, and ATE lab operations.
  • Develop and improve standard operating procedures and documentation.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Drive continuous improvements to lab efficiency, equipment utilization, and technician productivity.

What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience in a semiconductor engineering, product engineering, manufacturing, or test lab environment.
  • 2+ years leading technicians or coordinating technical lab operations.
  • Strong experience supporting semiconductor ATE (Automated Test Equipment) labs or similar "big iron" test environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with: Oscilloscopes, Digital multimeters, Power supplies, Test fixtures, Engineering instrumentation
  • Experience managing calibration, preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and vendor relationships.
  • Experience owning lab budgets, equipment purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple engineering priorities.
  • Comfortable being both hands‑on in the lab and leading a technical team.

Preferred Experience

  • Semiconductor Product Engineering or Test Engineering lab environment.
  • ATE platforms and associated engineering hardware.
  • Failure analysis, characterization, or reliability testing.
  • Lean manufacturing or 5S methodologies.
  • IPC soldering certification or equivalent hands‑on soldering experience.

Additional Information

  • Onsite in Austin, Texas (Monday–Friday)
  • Compensation: $92,000-$120,000
