Logs in specimens, processes specimens for reference labs, charts, files, answers telephone, and picks up and delivers specimens.

Performs phlebotomy on outpatients (first shift only). Works under close supervision; receives direction regarding tasks to be completed and priorities.Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentVerbal communication skills to answer telephone, greet patients and visitors, and respond to requests for informationKnowledge of the human development process and ability to work effectively with patients of all agesWritten communication skills to take messagesComputer aptitude to use a keyboard and function in a Windows environmentGood organizational skillsAbility to walk long distances while pushing a cartAbility to file alphabetically or numericallyAbility to work weekends, holidays, and rotate various shifts, if neededPreferred:Completion of course in medical terminologyPrevious phlebotomy experience
