Lab AnalystVancouver, Washington, United StatesPreferred Education and Experience:Prefer candidates with an associate's or bachelor's degree in a science field.Prefer candidates that have experience analyzing environmental samples.Responsibilities Include:Analyzing wastewater samples for Total Suspended Solids, Fecal Coliform, Ammonia, pH, Biochemical Oxygen Demand and a variety of other testsAnalyzing solid samples for %TS and %VSCollecting air samples for analysisUsing microscope to properly identify bacteria in wastewater samplesMaintaining laboratory equipment including incubators, autoclaves, dissolved oxygen probes, pH probes, analytical balances, etc.Collecting wastewater treatment samplesProper sample handling, including chain of custody proceduresCreating accurate sample fractions from parent samplesReceiving and logging chemicals and other suppliesProper laboratory documentationCreating, updating and maintaining standard operating proceduresCross-training as needed to provide support with industrial samplingFollowing laboratory and field work safety protocol and using necessary PPE at all timesProper disposal of environmental samplesAccurate data entry in LIMSData validationServe as backup for industrial pretreatment sampling programMaintaining a positive attitude and contributing to a team environmentOther Information:Work schedule will be day shift Tuesday through SaturdaySome holiday work requiredMust be able to stand for approximately 80% of an 8-hour workdayMust be able to regularly lift items between 1 and 15 poundsMust be able to occasionally lift items between 15 and 50 pounds
