Machine OperatorThe Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery used in the manufacturing of building products and related components. This role ensures products are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate would have trim carpentry experience and is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Machine Operation & ProductionSet up, operate, monitor, and adjust production machinery and manufacturing equipmentRead and interpret blueprints, work orders, production drawings, and technical specificationsConfigure machine settings to ensure accurate cutting, drilling, routing, machining, or fabrication processesMonitor machine performance and production output throughout each shiftMaintain production efficiency while meeting daily production schedules and quality expectationsCollaborate with production team members to achieve department goals and deadlinesQuality ControlVerify measurements and inspect finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality standardsPerform in-process and final quality inspections throughout productionIdentify product defects, dimensional inaccuracies, or quality concerns and report them promptlyMaintain accurate production records and quality documentationEquipment MaintenancePerform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventative maintenance on assigned machineryTroubleshoot minor machine issues and communicate equipment repair needs to maintenance personnelMaintain machine work areas in a clean, organized, and safe conditionAssist with equipment changeovers and setup activities as requiredMaterial Handling & Production SupportPrepare raw materials and finished products for processing or transfer between production areasAssist with staging materials and maintaining efficient production workflowOperate material handling equipment as authorizedSupport inventory accuracy and proper material identification throughout the manufacturing processSafety & Continuous ImprovementFollow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirementsPromote a safety-first culture by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or equipment concernsMaintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work areaParticipate in required safety meetings, production training, and continuous improvement initiativesSupport operational improvements that increase quality, productivity, and efficiencyPerform additional duties as assigned.What you'll bring:Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and measurements accurately for various door specificationsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsBasic computer skills and ability to operate machine interfacesStrong English language proficiencyAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentStrong commitment to safety, quality, and productivityExcellent organizational and time-management skillsHigh school diploma or GED requiredPrevious experience operating manufacturing, machining, woodworking, fabrication, or production equipment preferredExperience operating machines, door machining equipment, saws, routers, drills, or similar millwork production machinery is a plusAbility to accurately read tape measures and technical drawingsExperience in millwork, woodworking, door manufacturing, trim carpentry, or related manufacturing environments preferredMechanical troubleshooting or repair experience is a plusForklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferredWork is performed primarily in a manufacturing and production environmentFrequent exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, dust, vibration, and seasonal temperature changesAbility to stand for extended periods throughout the workdayAbility to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasksAbility to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularlyFrequent use of hand tools, measuring devices, production equipment, and machine controlsAbility to work overtime or extended hours based on production schedules and business needsWhat you'll earn:Health Care Benefits401(k) with employer matchPaid Time OffBenefits for union-represented roles are determined by the applicable collective bargaining agreement and may differ from standard company benefits.QXO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
