Salary Range: $17.00 To $20.00 Annually
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Work closely with the kitchen manager and demonstrate Capital Prep Harbor School values, by providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner to ensure a positive experience to the young customers.
The kitchen assistant will follow and perform all the rules and policies for the Child Nutrition Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help in the kitchen, set up, and assemble line for lunch easy flow.
- Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to students and staff.
- Clean up once meals have been served.
- Follow safe and proper procedures in the course of daily work
- Arrive on time and demonstrate effective time management.
- Attend yearly training required by the USDA.
- Other duties as assigned, including tasks that support the essential functions of the Child Nutrition Program.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold NYC Food Server Certification.
- Must have excellent communication and people skills.
- Must possess basic math skills.
- Ability to multi-task and be detailed oriented.
- Able to successfully work independently and as part of the team.
- Ability to work unsupervised must be focused and detailed.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 20 pounds.
- Ability to stand on feet for a long period of time. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comply with applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards.
