DESCRIPTION
Madison District Public Schools is seeking a caring, energetic, and highly qualified Kindergarten Teacher who is passionate about fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for our youngest elementary students. The successful candidate will create meaningful learning experiences that support academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth while building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate elementary certification
  • Competency in content area
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and best instructional practices for young learners
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Commitment to equity, collaboration, and continuous professional growth
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Michigan Academic Standards.
  • Establish a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all learners.
  • Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies and use data to guide instruction.
  • Foster language development, early literacy, mathematics, and foundational learning skills.
  • Implement effective classroom management practices that encourage positive student behavior.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, interventionists, and other support personnel to meet student needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Participate in professional learning, staff meetings, and district initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
