Child Watch Mentor I
Provides direction for the program and classroom, and implements program curriculum. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focus on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring and faith.
Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers.
Maintains program site and equipment. Ensures the area is safe.
Maintains required program records.
Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.

Relationships: Builds rapport and relates well to others.
Communication: Listens for understanding and meaning; speaks and writes effectively.
Quality Results: Strives to meet or exceed goals and deliver a high-value experience for members.
Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training are required.
Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for check-in's/check-out's and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
The employee frequently is required to sit and reach, and must be able to move around the work environment.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
