Kentucky Licensed Medical Coder

To ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance with coding standards, the full-time remote Kentucky Licensed Medical Coder will abstract information and assign valid CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCs codes while managing coding denials and maintaining communication with healthcare providers. Key responsibilities Accurately abstract information and assign appropriate codes into billing systems to ensure compliance with guidelines Review and resolve coding denials while completing charge sessions in assigned work queues in a timely manner Provide feedback on coding reviews and maintain compliance with HIPAA privacy and security requirements Required qualifications High school diploma or GED/equivalent (required) One to four years of physician coding experience (preferred) Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification (required) Certification as a Coding Specialist (CCS), Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P), or Coding Assistant (CCA) (required)
