kdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure:On behalf of our finance client, Procom is searching for a kdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure for a contract role. This position is a remote position with the client’s New York, New York office.kdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure - Job Description:This role involves taking ownership of an early-stage kdb+ platform, which is about a year old. The developer will be responsible for building and running the real-time and historical market data infrastructure for the fixed income ETF desk and other trading groups. A key focus will be migrating the existing OneTick estate onto the kdb+ tick architecture.kdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure - Responsibilities:• Architect, extend, and harden the kdb+ tick stack: tickerplant, RDB, HDB, gateways, and feedhandlers• Lead the migration from OneTick to kdb+ — data model, historical backfill, feed cutover, user migration, and decommissioning• Maintain and occasionally extend feedhandlers for market data vendors and internal fair-value feeds• Own the fair value/pricing data pipeline and the analytics that sit on top of it• Design and operate a multi-terabyte HDB at ~100 GB/day• Work directly with traders and quants on requirements, prototyping, and production analytics• Own the release and deployment process for the platform• Provide production support for the data platform, including incident response and root-cause analysis• Set the standards for code quality, testing, and documentation across the q codebasekdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure - Mandatory Skills:• 5+ years of production kdb+/q experience in sell-side or buy-side trading infrastructure• Deep understanding of and fluency in kdb+/q, including the memory model and IPC• Grounded in software development principles: testing, modular design, code review, and documentation• Deep understanding of tick architecture: tickerplant/RDB/HDB topology, feedhandlers, gateways, entitlements, and log replay• Strong focus on writing clean, well-structured, maintainable q code• Strong Git skills and solid SDLC discipline• Strong Linux and bash; comfortable running production processes and debugging at the OS levelkdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure – Nice-to-Have Skills:• Exposure to cloud deployment of kdb+ (AWS)• Experience working directly with front-office users and communicating clearly with traders under time pressure• Ownership mindset with comfort in platform accountability• Experience in scripting operational toolingkdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure – Assignment Length:The role is initially a contract engagement, with a clear path to a permanent position for the right person.kdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure - Start Date:ASAPkdb+/q Developer — Trading Data Infrastructure - Assignment Location:Remote position based in New York, New York, United States.This posting is for an existing vacancy.
