This role supports front-end, back-end, database, and security teams, ensuring all deliverables meet federal compliance (FedRAMP / RMF), audit readiness, and operational excellence standards.The ideal candidate brings expertise in technical documentation, structured authoring, compliance artifacts (SSP, POA&M), and engineering documentation frameworks, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable content for diverse stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and maintain compliance artifacts: System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, and Plan of Action & MilestonesSupport alignment with NIST SP 800-53 / RMF (800-37), FedRAMP Moderate/High baselines, and ICD 503Support ATO lifecycle documentation and audit readinessSupport and ensure the production of high-quality developer-facing materials: API references, Integration guides, and SDK documentationCollaborate with Back-End Developers to ensure accurate and up-to-date API contractsDocument Data dictionaries and metadata, Database schemas and relationships, and Data governance policiesWork with Database Engineers to ensure data lineage, classification, and handling requirements are clearly documentedDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, change Enablement documentation and incident response runbooks in collaboration with respective Team SME'sAlign documentation with ITIL processes in coordination with Team SME'sEstablish and enforce documentation standards and templates, version control and document lifecycle management and implement structured authoring and reuse strategiesServe as the central documentation liaison across Engineering teams, Security and compliance teams and Product and program leadershipUtilize documentation tools and platforms: Confluence, SharePoint, Git-based documentation (Markdown) and API tools (Swagger/OpenAPI)Support automation of documentation workflows within CI/CD pipelinesSupport the preparation and manage documentation for FedRAMP audits and 3PAO assessments and Internal compliance reviewsEnsure and support documentations are complete, accurate, and traceable and aligned with system configurations and controlsMentor junior writers or contributors, promote a culture of documentation as a critical engineering disciplineContinuously improve documentation quality and usabilityQualificationsActive TS/SCI with PolygraphBachelor's degree or higher in Technical Writing, English, IT or related field1+ years of technical writing experience in IT or cybersecurity environmentsProven ability to document Complex systems and architectures (APIs, data model, etc.)Tools & Technologies: Confluence, SharePoint, Markdown, DITA, Swagger / OpenAPI, Git, Visio, Lucidchart, Jira, Azure DevOpsDesired QualificationsFamiliarity with FedRAMP, NIST RMF, ICD 503Familiarity with DevSecOps environmentsKnowledge of structured authoring frameworks (DITA)Core One is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
