Junior Prisma Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Prisma Engineer to support a large-scale firewall migration initiative for a California-based client. This role will focus on migrating legacy firewall environments to Palo Alto Prisma solutions while providing troubleshooting and operational support throughout the transition. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on Prisma experience, strong network configuration skills, and experience working with at least one legacy firewall platform.

Responsibilities

• Support the migration of legacy firewall environments to Palo Alto Prisma platforms.
• Configure, deploy, and optimize Prisma security solutions across enterprise environments.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, security policy, and application access issues during migration activities.
• Analyze LAN and WAN network traffic to identify and resolve performance and security concerns.
• Configure and support routing protocols, including BGP and TCP/IP networking.
• Perform packet captures and network analysis using Wireshark.
• Implement and troubleshoot URL filtering, SSL decryption, and security policy configurations.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to resolve issues impacting Windows and macOS endpoints.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Professional Services or consulting experience supporting enterprise network security environments.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Prisma solutions.
• Strong firewall configuration and migration experience.
• Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP networking, and BGP routing.
• Hands-on experience with at least one legacy firewall vendor, including Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Symantec, or Check Point.
• Experience using Wireshark for network troubleshooting and packet analysis.
• Knowledge of URL filtering, SSL decryption, and advanced security policy management.
• Experience troubleshooting Windows and macOS systems in enterprise environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment.
