Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a Junior Plumbing Engineer (EIT) to support the design, analysis, and coordination of plumbing and piping systems for commercial, educational, municipal, healthcare, institutional, and other building projects. Working alongside experienced Professional Engineers, this individual will gain hands-on design and project experience while continuing professional development toward P.E. licensure.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with domestic water, sanitary waste, vent, storm drainage, and specialty plumbing system design
Perform pipe sizing, fixture count, water demand, drainage, and equipment selection calculations
Prepare plumbing construction drawings, specifications, and design documentation
Research and apply applicable plumbing codes and standards
Collect and organize project data to support engineering decisions
Evaluate design alternatives and assist with practical engineering solutions
Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and related engineering software
Assist with quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates
Review shop drawings, equipment submittals, and RFIs
Participate in field investigations, site visits, and construction observations
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines
Participate in client, contractor, consultant, and internal project meetings
Support project QA/QC and maintain project documentation
Continue professional development toward Texas P.E. licensure
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related engineering discipline
EIT certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire
Engineering experience in plumbing, MEP, or related building systems
Basic familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit
Understanding of plumbing systems and building design fundamentals
Familiarity with IPC, UPC, and applicable building codes preferred
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strongly Preferred:
Previous MEP consulting engineering experience
Plumbing system design experience
Project management exposure
Experience with commercial, educational, municipal, healthcare, or institutional projects
