We are looking for a Design Engineer Steel / Aluminium Structures to design and develop critical load-bearing steel and mechanical systems used in demanding aluminium production environments and special-purpose vehicles. The equipment operates in hot, heavy, and abrasive conditions, making robust and reliable engineering essential.
What You Will Do
- Take ownership of engineering solutions from concept development and calculations through 3D modelling and fabrication-ready drawings , including GA, detail, weldment, assembly drawings, and BOM.
- Work extensively with Autodesk Inventor for 3D design and development.
- Design and verify welded steel and aluminium structures in accordance with Eurocode 3, Eurocode 9, and EN 1090 , including lifting equipment and fatigue-critical components.
- Convert practical challenges faced by customers' maintenance and operations teams into practical, buildable, and serviceable engineering solutions .
- Collaborate closely with welders, workshop teams, and purchasing to ensure designs are practical to manufacture, delivered on time, and within cost.
- Participate in customer-site surveys and measurements , and follow projects through fabrication and commissioning.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through standardisation, improved design templates, fewer design revisions, and shorter project lead times .
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor projects from initial enquiry through completion .
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress, documentation, and reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct technical inspections and checks of plant and equipment, including welded structures.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable HSE standards and statutory requirements.
B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical with experience in working for Aluminium Industry .
