We are looking for someone that will support our mission to consistently deliver creative, high-quality, technology-based services to our customers on time and within budget.This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal.Duties Include:Technician to work CNC Milling operationsInserting raw materials (metal, plastic) into the mill's vise or fixtures, and removing finished partsRunning pre-programmed sequences by operating the CNC control panel under supervisionUsing hand tools, files, or tumbling machines to remove sharp edges, burrs, and excess material from freshly machined partsBe able to complete in-process inspections in open setup (mics, calipers, thread measurements) and optical comparator (angles and overlays)Be able to inspect parts coming off CNC machines for visual defects and workmanshipExperience interpreting blueprints, beginner knowledge of GD&TStaging raw stock and moving heavy materials using pallet jacks, hoists, or forkliftsMaintain traceability on material alloys and raw materials being machined for each jobLoading designated cutting tools (end mills, drills, taps) into tool holders and placing them into the machine's tool carouselCleaning the machine bed and assisting in mounting vises, clamps, or custom fixtures needed for the next jobMaintain CNC machines, including basic maintenance, and workspace professionalismBasic computer skills to enter inspection data, JobBOSS, etc.Work and communicate well with a team of Engineers and Technicians to efficiently complete assigned tasksSkillsets and Experience Required:Must be able to obtain a clearance through the DoD security background investigation processExperience: 1–3 years of experience operating CNC machineryLooking for independently capable (work experience can vary if the applicant is proficient)Pass drug and alcohol testingMust have good mechanical skills and experienceHigh standard of quality and efficiencyEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAny milling/other MFG experience would be beneficialSolid knowledge of shop mathematicsMust be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordinglyBasic PC knowledge (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Must be able to work in a physical capacity, lifting and moving heavy objectMust be a US CitizenMust have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driver's licenseHigh School diploma required, College degree not required but beneficialPast or present military personnel are encouraged to applyUTRS is an Equal Opportunity employer.
