Job Title: Jr. Business Analyst
Contract Length: 6+ months-Full Time Conversion
Location: 100% Remote
Client Overview:
Our client is seeking to build an onshore techno-functional support team to help transition work currently supported by offshore resources into a more scalable, high-touch domestic model. This team will sit close to business and technology stakeholders, supporting digital, application, and operational workstreams where strong communication, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly are more important than deep years of experience.
This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career Business Analyst, technically curious college graduate, or junior techno-functional resource looking to grow into a long-term role. The client is specifically looking for bright, eager, coachable individuals who can be trained, converted, and grown into a durable internal team over time.
Job Description:
The Junior Business Analyst / Techno-Functional Analyst will support application, configuration, process, and business analysis activities across a growing onshore support team. This person will work with business users, product/application teams, and technical stakeholders to document requirements, assist with basic system configuration, support testing, track issues, and help translate business needs into clear, actionable work items.
This role does not require a senior-level analyst background. The ideal candidate is early in career, highly curious, organized, and comfortable learning new systems quickly. Candidates may come from a junior BA background, STEM program, healthcare/IT internship, application support role, or an academic background involving data analysis, research, statistics, R, SPSS, SQL, or similar tools.
The position is intended to convert after approximately 6 months for strong performers.
Skill Set Requirements:
- 0–3 years of experience in business analysis, application support, system configuration, data analysis, QA, research, or a related technical/analytical role
- Strong intellectual curiosity, eagerness to learn, and ability to ramp quickly in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to gather, clarify, and document business needs, workflows, issues, and system requirements
- Exposure to basic application configuration, system administration, workflow updates, or technical support activities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders
- Comfort with documentation, note-taking, process mapping, issue tracking, and follow-up
- Basic understanding of SDLC, Agile, user stories, testing, or application delivery concepts
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify patterns, ask good questions, and troubleshoot problems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel; familiarity with SharePoint, Teams, Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps, or similar tools is helpful
- Ability to support UAT, test case documentation, defect tracking, and business validation activities
Nice to Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, business analytics, information systems, computer science, biology, psychology, public health, statistics, mathematics, or a related field
- Academic or professional experience using R, SPSS, Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytics/statistics tools
- Prior internship, co-op, or entry-level experience in healthcare, health insurance, hospital operations, software support, or IT
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements, or functional documentation
- Exposure to healthcare applications, patient/member data, digital health, CRM, CMS, contact center, or enterprise systems
- Experience supporting configuration, permissions, workflows, forms, queues, dashboards, or data validation
- Prior experience working with offshore teams, support models, ticket queues, or application enhancement backlogs
- Midwest or Arizona-based candidates preferred, though open to approved remote states
Education/Certification(s)/License(s):
Bachelor’s degree preferred, especially in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Biology, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field.
Relevant coursework, internships, research experience, bootcamps, certifications, or hands-on experience with analytics/statistics tools may be considered in lieu of direct professional BA experience. No formal certification required.
