Junior Accountant

Position Summary

The Junior Accountant will support the accounting and finance team by assisting with daily accounting activities, month-end close processes, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for an entry-level accounting professional seeking to develop a strong foundation in manufacturing accounting and cost accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
• Perform bank, general ledger, and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with inventory accounting, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations.
• Analyze manufacturing variances and production costs.
• Review and validate production, labor, and material cost data.
• Help prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with audits by gathering requested documentation and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 0-2 years of accounting experience; internship experience considered.
• Exposure to manufacturing or inventory accounting is a plus.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
