Knowledge of Hebrew language and Judaic Studies, Jewish religious customs and holidays is a must!

Magen David Yeshivah is looking for Judaic Studies Lead Teachers at our Brooklyn school. FT and PT positions are available. The school year is consistent with the Jewish calendar and closed during summer.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching Minha, Torat Haim, Shaharit, GEMS, Tefliah, Gemara, Hesed, Dinim, Chumash, etc.

  • The Head Teacher will design and maintain a classroom environment that facilitates active, hands‑on learning, group management, self‑expression and choice, and inclusion of all children, parents, volunteers and staff.

  • Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress.

  • Educate and support students to help them accomplish learning benchmarks.

  • Plan lessons that target specific skills and concepts.

  • Evaluate each student’s growth in knowledge and skills in the course being taught.

  • Cultivate core Jewish values such as kindness, respect, compassion and integrity within students.

  • Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including PTA and student clubs.

Qualifications

  • Head Teacher should have a Master’s degree and hold certification and/or NYS license in related fields with a minimum of 1-3 years of teaching experience.
