Jr. Mortgage Consultant

Shelter Lending Services PositionGain growth and knowledge of the mortgage industry through on-line training, courses and working with the Sales Coaches. Interact with both sales and Newrez clients to help with the understanding of the mortgage industry and expand into the Mortgage Consultant role as it relates to our existing customers and first home purchase business.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEngage with consumers, determine their needs, and offer the appropriate product.Take mortgage loan applications by phone and prepare effective loan proposals.Provide superior customer service.Meet monthly production goals.Stay informed of developing trends in the mortgage industry.Attend/assist with scheduled meetings, training sessions and courses.Maintain compliance with the Newrez Code of Conduct.Performs related duties as assigned by management.Qualifications and Education RequirementsAssociates Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.0-2 years of related experience.Sales experience preferred.Skills, Abilities, and KnowledgeAbility to pass a background check required for state licensing.Persuasive, selling communication skills.Connect quickly with people in an outgoing, friendly manner.Complete work quickly and accurately.Effective in a fast-paced environment.Attention to detail and careful decision-making skill with ability to avoid mistakes.Basic computer skills.Excellent written and communication skills.Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate careful decision-making skills.Work Environment and Physical RequirementsWorking on-site at assigned office location.Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.Why NewrezWe're a great place to work because we invest in what matters: your career, your community, your wellbeing, and your future.
