Remote Full Time Installation
Jr Field Service Technician/Helpdesk for manufacturer located in the Irvine CA area.
This is a Direct Hire position paying $50K-$53K/yr base + Travel Pay (Estimated OTE $70K+ the first year) When not traveling will report to the Irvine office working 8 am - 5 pm, M-F. Must have valid passport for travel, which is estimated to be about 70% of the time throughout USA, Canada and Mexico.
Our Irvine-based industrial technology firm is seeking a Junior Field Service Technician / Help Desk Representative specializing in CNC machinery and automation components. This dual-threat role combines hands-on field mechanical work with high-level remote technical support.
The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who enjoys a mix of office-based troubleshooting and extensive international travel. You will act as the face of the company, ensuring equipment uptime and high customer satisfaction across North America.
Travel Requirements
  • Capacity: Up to 70% travel (USA, Canada, and Mexico).
  • Training Phase: Travel frequency will be higher during the initial training period to ensure full machine proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Field Operations: Lead on-site machine installations, routine preventive maintenance, and operator training at client facilities.
  • Technical Support: Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues via phone and email, maintaining a professional and helpful demeanor.
  • Component Guidance: Advise customers on replacement parts and mechanical adjustments to optimize machine performance.
  • Service Excellence: Adhere to service management principles and document all support queries within company systems.
  • Industry Events: Provide technical support and equipment setup at regional trade shows and exhibitions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 2-5 years in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with a strong preference for backgrounds in Automation or Automotive sectors.
  • Experience building own computer
  • Experience building 3D printer or similar
  • Experience with DIY projects
  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical/electronic, and pneumatic components. Familiarity with modern CNC principles is highly preferred.
  • Tool Proficiency: Expertise using precision instruments, including calipers, dial gauges, and micrometers.
  • Compliance: ASE Certification and experience working within ISO 9001 standards are significant advantages.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills and a professional phone/email presence.
  • Logistics: Must possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (No DUI).
  • Software: Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desired for supporting the Mexico territory.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $50,000.00 - $53,000.00 Per Year
