Jr. Engineer PositionGroundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader with a reputation for excellence in providing environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services to clients in diverse market sectors, seeks a Jr.
Engineer to support fieldwork and environmental remediation project activities in NJ. This is an entry-level position for a detail-oriented, team player with strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem solving and time management skills. The Position will report to a Principal Engineer and work under the supervision and mentorship of staff and senior level engineers along with field technicians in a collaborative and safety conscience environment.
The Position duties and responsibilities are dynamic from day to day and will generally require 50% office work, 50% field work within New Jersey.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with groundwater and vapor treatment system engineering calculationsAssist with remediation system and laboratory data tabulation, evaluation and report preparationAssist with materials/equipment/supplies specification and procurementAssist with subcontractor scope of work development, coordination and contractingAssist with cost estimates and support proposal effortsAssist with NJDEP permit applications and compliance reportsAssist with developing standard operating procedures (SOPs)Coordinate, participate in and complete Health and Safety related field observations and documentationCoordinate field tasks associated with operation and maintenance (O&M) of remediation systems (e.g., data collection, system sampling, system cleaning, carbon replacement)Field work including remedial system O&M, pilot testing, remedial in-situ injections, groundwater sampling, collecting environmental and permit compliance samples, soil excavation, contractor oversight for trenching, piping & system installationPerform other related duties as assignedSkills & Requirements:A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil)0-1+ years of related environmental consulting experienceMust be resourceful with excellent communication and writing skills and possess a high degree of initiative and time management skillsEngineer-in-Training (E.I.T) certification is a plusMechanical aptitude and experience with basic hand tools in a plusField work requires wearing personal protection equipment and working outdoors in all seasonsFamiliarity with Microsoft CoPilot or other AI-based toolsOur comprehensive benefits program includes: Hybrid workforce, medical, dental, vision, prescription, 401k, FSA, STD, LTD, New Parent Leave, 529 CollegeBound Fund, Tuition Assistance, Bonus Plan, and more.Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc.
