POSITION SUMMARY:
General maintenance mechanic duties as assigned by a Maintenance Supervisor inareas of installations, maintenance, and repair of all components associatedwith plumbing.
DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspects, adjusts, service, and repairs plumbing fixtures and systems and allelements and components associated with plumbing operation;
Assists inpreparation of material lists;
Maintainsrecords;
Diagnoses andcorrect deficiencies in existing plumbing systems.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Highschool diploma or equivalent, or vocational school degree
Journeyman's Plumber's licenseissued by Allegheny County and a PA Driver's License - Class I.
Minimum 5 yearsof experience.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:
Knowledge of plumbing and plumbing sanitary codes;
Ability to workothers; ability to perform physically demanding work;
Ability toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with the UniversityCommunity.
