Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary

The Electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures for residential and commercial customers. This role ensures all work is completed safely, to code, and to Stegall's standard of quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair electrical wiring, panels, circuits, and fixtures in residential and commercial settings

• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics

• Diagnose electrical issues and recommend appropriate repairs or upgrades to customers

• Install lighting, ceiling fans, generators, panel upgrades, and other electrical equipment

• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes

• Test circuits and connections to confirm proper, safe operation

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time on each job

• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding scope of work and recommendations

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times

• Properly maintain assigned tools, equipment, and company vehicle

Qualifications

• Active electrical license/certification as required by Alabama and local jurisdiction

• 5+ years of electrical experience required

• Valid driver's license and good driving record required

• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Field-based position requiring travel to residential and commercial job sites

• Must be able to stand, kneel, climb ladders, and work in attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas

• Frequent lifting of 25-50 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.

• Exposure to extreme heat or cold and outdoor working conditions

• Use of required Personal Protective Equipment on every job
