Job Summary
As a Johns Island Emergency Room RN, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, working collaboratively with the care team and advocating for patients, families, and caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate and resolve needs.
- Teach patients/families/caregivers about the medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex terminology into understandable language.
- Educate patients/families/caregivers on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing them for self-management.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
- One year applicable experience.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or holding an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
