Weekend Shift Machine OperatorLocation: Southington, CT, US, 06489 Business Unit: Advanced Medical ComponentsShift: This position works a fixed weekend schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Training will be conducted on 1st Shift (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM) for approximately 2-4 weeks. Upon successful completion of training, employees will transition to the regular weekend night shift (Friday-Sunday, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM).Essential responsibilities include the following:Perform basic machining operations using assigned machine toolsInspect parts using basic measuring toolsInform lead person of out of tolerance situationsObtain first piece inspection approval before proceedingConduct periodic inspection of partsPrepare and maintain records and reports as requiredMaintain established quality standardsEnsure work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly condition, that prescribed safety measures are followed, and established company policies and procedures are adhered toObserve all safety rules and regulations including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipmentOperates equipment in a safe mannerParticipate as a member of work teamsAssist in measuring team performance for safety, quality, cost and to continually improve these measuresRead, follow basic blueprints, diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and/or procedures to accurately assemble productsPerform microscope inspection on assembled partsMaintain inventory of product in workstationsPerform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standardsIdentify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identifiedPerform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety proceduresAttends required training programsPerforms 5s activitiesAssist in the training of other associates in procedures and use of equipmentAbility to read, use various inspection equipment, precision tools, understand and apply basic inspection and sound measurement practicesOther duties may be assignedEducation and/or Experience: HS Graduate of Equivalent i.e.
