Senior Test EngineerIf you are an experienced engineer with a background in Integration, Verification, and Validation, you will be excited about the Senior Test Engineer opening with Iridium on our Integration & Test team for a Space Development Agency (SDA) project. As a Senior Test Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading and independently implementing solutions supporting the integration and testing of satellite ground systems. In this role, you will focus primarily on developing integration plans, executing system tests, troubleshooting issues, and driving technical excellence across projects. You will thrive in this role if you are analytical, collaborative, proactive, and enthusiastic about continuous improvement.What You'll Do:Be responsible for developing, refining, and executing integration and test plans for satellite ground systemsLead system troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities, implementing corrective actionsWork independently to drive successful integration across hardware, software, and networking componentsWork collaboratively with multiple teams of engineers and stakeholders to ensure successful integration of components and systems within project timelinesDevelop and maintain documentation, including test plans, procedures, and system configurationsExecute system testing and verification activities, including defining test requirements, developing test plans, and executing tests to ensure system functionality and performance meet project requirementsWork closely with SDA System Engineers and Developers on current testing requirements and development of proceduresEnsure projects meet technical performance targets, deliver quality results, and activities are well-designed and meet overall project objectivesPlay a key role in system testing and verification activities to ensure functionality and performance meet requirementsCreate automated test scripts and procedures to streamline validation activitiesProvide system engineering best practices and contribute strategic input to program design and deliveryWhat You'll Need to Succeed:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field8+ years of relevant experience in the space and ground systems industryProgramming languages such as: Python, Shell scriptingExperience with Kubernetes / Docker / Podman / ArgoCDFamiliarity with tools and software applications that support System Engineering and Integration, Verification, and Validation best practicesWillingness to learn and work with numerous COTS (Commercial-off-the-Shelf) packagesExperience working with different databasesFamiliarity with coding and scripting languages with a willingness to continuously learn and enhance skillsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topicHave confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your teamPossess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutionsBe proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with othersCapable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are metThings That Would Be Great If You Brought To The Table:Knowledge of satellite subsystems and Command and Control Systems (e.g., OS Comet, InControl)Experience with the Hardware-Software Development Life CycleProgramming proficiency in Java, JavaScript, C++Working knowledge of networking protocols, routers, and switchesExperience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, R4J, and ConfluenceExperience operating in Linux Red Hat environmentsWe'll Also Need You To:Be able to travel up to 20%Be a US CitizenBe able to work in the office at least 2 days a week to foster collaboration with the team and stakeholdersWork Environment:This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer.
